77-foot boats being built and 70-footers undergoing modification, late spring-early summer 1941. The boat in the foreground has just recieved a fresh coat of varnish.

Second series (PT 45-68) 77-footers under construction, 1941.

A nearly complete MTB 314 (ex-PT 56) facing a newly-planked unknown 77-footer.

Transom view of MTB 308 (ex-PT 50). Note the early mufflers. This boat and MTB 314 above were lost during Operation Agreement, a Combined Operations raid on the port of German-held Tobruk in Libya. The 308 was destroyed, while the 314 was captured by the Germans and placed in Kriegsmarine service until sunk by the Royal Air Force in 1943.

Foreground, PT 59, behind her, a 77-footer destined for RN service (note Vickers gun turret, British pattern torpedo tube, and pedestal for Lewis machine gun). Beyond the British MTB is PT 67.

Forward cabins for second-series 77-footers.
